Churches in Upper Denton Parish
St Mary Magdalene
St Mary's is a small church set in a remote and peaceful location just outside the village of Gilsland in the heart of Hadrian's Wall Country. As well as the people of the village and those from the many outlying farms of the parish, it serves the visitors to Gilsland Hall Hotel. We have a friendly and caring congregation and are always delighted to welcome visitors.
The church is always open in daylight hours and many visit and find peace and tranquility there.
